Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering and caring for your custom appliance.
General Questions
How do I order a custom appliance?
Ordering is easy — place your order online, complete your at-home impression kit (if required), return your impressions with the prepaid shipping label, and we custom-fabricate your appliance and ship it directly to your door.
Do I need to visit a dentist?
A dental visit isn’t required to place an order — our at-home impression kit lets you take your own impressions. We do recommend keeping up with regular dental checkups, and consulting a licensed dentist if you have any dental concerns before ordering.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Most appliances are completed within 10 business days in our lab once we receive your impressions. Shipping time to you is additional.
What if I make a mistake with my impressions?
No worries — if your impressions aren’t usable for manufacturing, we’ll let you know and send replacement impression material with instructions to try again. In some cases an additional charge for replacement putty may apply.
Are your products made in the USA?
Yes. Our custom appliances are fabricated in a professional dental laboratory using dental-grade materials.
Can I reorder if I’ve ordered before?
Yes. If your impressions are still on file and your teeth haven’t changed, reordering is quick and easy.
Custom Retainers
Why wear a retainer?
Retainers help hold your teeth in their current position and reduce the chance of teeth shifting over time.
What types of retainers do you offer?
We offer clear custom retainers designed for comfort, durability, and an accurate fit.
How long do retainers last?
With proper care, retainers typically last several years. Their lifespan depends on wear, cleaning habits, and how they’re stored.
How should I clean my retainer?
Rinse it daily with cool water and clean it with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or a retainer cleaner. Avoid hot water, which can warp the material.
What if my retainer no longer fits?
If your retainer feels tight or no longer fits, your teeth may have shifted. Contact us to discuss replacement options.
Can I sleep with my retainer?
Most retainers are designed to be worn overnight unless otherwise directed by your dental provider.
Custom Whitening Trays
What are custom whitening trays?
Custom whitening trays are made specifically to fit your teeth, helping whitening gel stay in place for a more even fit against the teeth.
Do whitening trays include whitening gel?
We provide the custom-fit trays only; we do not offer whitening gel for purchase at this time.
How long should I wear my whitening trays?
Wear time depends on the whitening gel you’re using. Always follow the instructions provided with your whitening product.
Can custom trays be reused?
Yes. Custom whitening trays are designed for repeated use with compatible whitening gel.
How do I clean my whitening trays?
Rinse with cool water after each use and allow them to air dry before storing them in their protective case.
Athletic Mouthguards
Why choose a custom athletic mouthguard?
Custom mouthguards offer a closer, more comfortable fit than boil-and-bite mouthguards, and can make breathing and speaking easier.
Which sports use a mouthguard?
Mouthguards are commonly used for football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, baseball, softball, soccer, and many other contact sports.
Can I wear my mouthguard with braces?
Yes. Just take your impression with your braces on, and we’ll account for them when fabricating your guard.
Can I choose my mouthguard color?
Yes. Sports guards are available in black, white, clear, red, green, and blue at no additional charge. You can also add a helmet strap for $15.
How often should I replace my mouthguard?
Replace your mouthguard if it becomes worn, damaged, no longer fits properly, or after significant dental work.
How do I clean my mouthguard?
Wash it with cool water and mild soap after each use, allow it to dry completely, and store it in its protective case.

Arch Customs Lab makes custom-fit removable oral appliances from an impression you provide. Our products are consumer goods — not medical or dental treatment. We do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and we do not assess whether an appliance is right for your mouth. Consult a licensed dentist before use, especially if you have pain, loose teeth, gum disease, untreated decay, bleeding or swelling, sores, jaw problems, recent dental work, implants, crowns, bridges, or any doubt about whether this product is appropriate for you.
